Design engineering

Experience designing and repairing a wide variety of equipment. We design repair procedures to bring failed or damaged equipment back to OEM standards or better, and engineer modifications to suit your application.

Equipment manufacturing

From an existing drawing or a design from scratch in SolidWorks Professional 3D modelling and analysis, then built with our in-house lathe, plasma table, welders and drills, or our network of industry partners.

Inspection & appraisal

Container cranes, RTGs, heavy lattice boom cranes, highway trucks, excavators, wheel loaders, rock trucks, sawmill machinery and more. Pre-purchase inspections, failure analysis, and insurance inspections for cause, valuation or forensic engineering.

Field engineering

Some jobs need time on site. Our team is equipped for measurements and to assist with installation and commissioning.

About Kraft

Kraft Engineering Ltd. is an engineering firm focused on providing practical solutions to industry. It specializes in the design and manufacture of custom products for clients, led by Jens Onneken, P.Eng, whose experience spans oil and gas, forestry, marine, municipal fleet and agri/aquaculture.

Jens' hands-on approach comes from a background working on heavy equipment, machinery, and marine and industrial design and repair. That experience makes Kraft uniquely qualified to help on your next project.

The path to Kraft

Commercial diver

Commercial Diving Diploma from the Divers Institute of Technology in Seattle, then work in ship's husbandry (inspection and underwater welding), industrial installations and aquaculture.

Oil patch mechanic

In the late 90s, on to the oil patch as an equipment operator and heavy-duty mechanic.
